At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior quarterback had led the Tartars to a 14-1 record and a berth in the Class 2A state championship game. Keyes passed for 3,597 yards and 41 touchdowns, adding 350 yards rushing and three scores through 15 games. A two-time Class 2A Mr. Football winner, he entered the state final with career numbers of 11,895 passing yards and 125 touchdowns.
Keyes has maintained a B average in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school next fall.
Keyes has volunteered locally at the Boys and Girls Club of Covington County, and he has donated his time to multiple community service activities through his church youth group.
