The 5-foot-11, 155-pound senior won the Class AAAAA Division 2 state meet this past season with a time of 15:54.19, leading the Warriors to 9th place as a team. Jones also broke the tape at the Bob Jenkins Classic in the International Race division and clocked a 5K personal-best time of 15:03.43 in winning the Starlight Invitational. He took 13th at the adidas XC Challenge as the state’s top finisher in that event.
Jones has maintained a weighted 4.26 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to run at Furman University this fall.
An active member of the St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Greenville, Jones has donated his time as part of the parish’s Rise Against Hunger event. He has also fundraised on behalf of Pumpkin Patch, which supports faith-based service missions throughout the community.
