The 5-foot-2 junior hurdler/jumper recorded personal-bests in winning three events at the Class 4A state meet led by her state record in the long jump, a leap of 20 feet, 10.75 inches. The distance ranked No. 1 nationally among prep girls competitors this spring and is No. 26 in U.S. prep history. Harris followed up with a fourth-place finish in the event at Nike Outdoor Nationals to earn All-American honors. She won the 100-meter dash at the LHSCA Meet of Champions, though that was shy of her 11.56-second clocking at states, which ranked 37th nationally in 2024. Harris’s third state title came in the 200 dash, where she broke the tape in 24.13. She finished the season ranked No. 26 in the national MileSplit 50.
Harris has maintained a 3.86 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her senior year of high school this fall.
Harris has volunteered locally as a member of the Mount Gideon Baptist Church, where she assists with summer vacation bible school. She has also donated her time instructing and mentoring youth track athletes in West Feliciana Parish.
