“As a person, Tevis is one of a kind.Tevis Bartlett is the true definition of an all-around person. Athletically, he is more accomplished than most in the sport of wrestling and has accomplished some great accolades in football as a sophomore and a junior. As a freshman, Tevis started in a semi-final game and the state championship game as a wide receiver. He has been the leader of our offense for the past two seasons at quarterback and has led our defense this past season as a safety. Earning All-Conference and All-State awards a sophomore, he is the only player in 4A to have rushed for and thrown for over a thousand yards each of the past two seasons as well as lead the state in 4A All-Purpose yards his junior year. He is a proven winner and leader as he was voted a team captain this year by his peers. He is a two-time state and national champion in the sport of wrestling. He is also one of Cheyenne East's best track athletes. As a person, Tevis is one of a kind. He is a leader both on and off the field. He treats others with respect and is willing to help others out in all realms of life. He assists in youth football and wrestling programs in town working camps and coaching kids. Tevis has been a student ambassador and is part of our "G" team which is a group of student athletes that go into the elementary and junior high schools and mentors kids to help them understand the importance of school. He maintains a 4.0 GPA in our I.B. program here at Cheyenne East High, which is the most rigorous course work you can have in our school system. I could not be more proud to be a part of this young man's life. He is truly a pleasure to be around not only for me as a coach and a teacher, but as a father of young kids who I can talk to them about Tevis as a great role model. I am extremely happy to get to be around Tevis for another year to see what else this great young man can and will accomplish. ”
