The 6-foot, 130-pound junior won the Class 5A state title this past season, clocking a time of 15:26.2 and leading the Comets to the team championship. Kitchen earned Nike Cross Northwest Regionals First Team All-Region accolades with a fourth-place finish in that race. He also took 25th at the Woodbridge Classic, which showcased the deepest lineup of talent in the country.
Kitchen has maintained a 4.14 GPA weighted in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
A decorated member of his school’s DECA chapter and also a National Honor Society member, Kitchen has volunteered locally as part of his church’s Welfare Farm program that provides humanitarian aid to needy families. He also serves as president of Crater High’s School Improvement Committee.
