The 5-foot-8 senior third baseman led the Sabercats (36-2) to the Class 6A state championship this past season. Sherrill compiled a .611 batting average with 20 RBI, 65 runs scored and 23 stolen bases. A member of the USA Softball Junior National Team, she is an All-State selection, The Oklahoman Player of the Year and is ranked as the nation's No. 30 recruit in the Class of 2017 by FloSoftball.
Sherrill has maintained a 3.77 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at Florida State University this fall.
Sherrill has volunteered locally on behalf of the Special Olympics, an elementary school literacy-outreach initiative and tornado relief efforts. "Sydney Sherrill is one of the best softball players in the country, let alone the state of Oklahoma," said Trey Palacol, head coach at Norman North High. "She can change the game at the plate, on the base paths and in the field."
