The 5-foot-10 sophomore won the two-mile run with a time of 10:11.99 and captured the 5000-meter run in 16:16.20 at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor this past season. Also the state’s Gatorade Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year, Masciarelli won the 800, the 1500 and the 3000 at the New England Prep School Track Association Division 3 Championship Meet. Her national-championship clocking in the 5000 and her season-best effort of 9:21.44 in the 3000 both ranked as the nation’s No. 1 performances among prep competitors in 2019 at the time of her selection.
Masciarelli has maintained a 3.51 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her junior year of high school this fall.
Also a basketball standout, Masciarelli has volunteered locally on behalf of a food pantry, youth basketball camps and the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation.
