“Stella Kermes not only winning the Class 4A state title, but also leading Cuthbertson to its best season in program history, including an eighth-place team finish at Nike Cross Nationals, vaulted her into being state’s best performer in 2022. Her victory at the Friday Night Lights Festival, in addition to placing sixth in the deepest regular-season race in the country at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic were performances that helped put her over the top, along with finishing second at the Nike Southeast Regional.”
