The 6-foot, 185-pound senior right-handed pitcher posted an 8-0 record on the mound with a 0.68 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 51 innings this past season, leading the Warriors (34-5) to the Division I-Class AA regional final. Ranked as the state's No. 3 recruit in the Class of 2017 by Perfect Game, Strider held opposing hitters to a .118 batting average and averaged 13.9 strikeouts per seven innings.
Strider has maintained a 3.86 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at Clemson University this fall.
Strider has volunteered locally on behalf of youth baseball programs and assisted in landscaping projects for the elderly. "Spencer Strider is the most accomplished pitcher I have seen in 30 years of coaching," said Christian Academy of Knoxville head coach Tommy Pharr. "He is a young man of great character, a very good student and has a tremendous work ethic. He is a great teammate and I have been blessed to coach him."
