The 5-foot-11 senior right-handed pitcher and third baseman led the Mavericks (30-1) to a third-place finish in the Class 5A state tournament this past season. Stockam threw six no-hitters on the year and finished with a 16-1 record, compiling a 0.59 earned run average and 259 strikeouts in 119.1 innings pitched, averaging 2.2 Ks per inning. She also batted .430 with 47 RBI and 11 home runs, striking out only once in 100 at-bats.
Stockam has maintained a 3.97 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play softball at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas this fall.
A member of the Maize South’s National Honor Society chapter, Stockam has volunteered locally in the recovery area of the on-campus blood-donation drive and has worked at the school’s book fairs. She has also donated her time writing cards to senior citizens and hospice patients, crafting blankets for children’s hospital patients and making rope toys for dogs waiting for adoption at the Kansas Humane Society.
