The 5-foot-8 sophomore right-handed pitcher and utility player led the Wolves (40-5) to the Class 5A state championship this past season. Schlader compiled a record of 30-1 in the circle with a 1.20 ERA and 296 strikeouts in 187 innings. Ranked as the nation’s No. 1 prospect in her class by Softball America, she also hit .357 with 29 RBI and 15 home runs, earning a spot on the Des Moines Register All-Iowa Elite Team.
Schlader has maintained a 4.12 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her junior year of high school in the fall.
Schlader has volunteered locally with Miracle League, a baseball league for kids with special needs. She has also donated her time packaging meals for Meals for the Heartland and as a bell-ringer for the Salvation Army.
