The state’s three-time returning Gatorade Girls Track & Field Player of the Year, the 5-foot-7 senior won the New Balance Nationals Outdoor title in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.09 and ranked No. 4 nationally among girls prep competitors in 2023. The owner of 13 state records (six outdoors, seven indoors), she also won state titles in the 800 and 1500 this spring. Gorriaran also clocked all-time top 10 indoor performances in the 500, 600, 800 and 1000 meters as well as the mile in 2023 and was the No. 1 prep girl nationally in all five events.
Gorriaran has maintained a 3.99 weighted GPA in the classroom. She will attend Harvard University this fall, where she will compete in cross country and track and field.
Also an All-American lacrosse player who competes in both sports during the spring season, Gorriaran has volunteered locally as a youth track coach as well as for both her church and a metropolitan elementary school in a high-need area. She has also donated her time feeding people in need at a food bank.
