The 5-foot-4 junior shortstop led the Warriors (16-5-1) to their second straight Division 2 state championship this past season. Yamashita batted .615 with a .702 on-base percentage, hit five home runs and drove in 23. She also stole 18 bases, scored 37 runs and was named Most Outstanding Player of the Division 2 state tournament.
Yamashita has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. She has made a verbal commitment to play softball on scholarship at Arizona State University beginning in the fall of 2026.
A member of the National Honor Society, Yamashita has volunteered locally as an umpire during the annual Charity Walk kickball tournament. She has also donated her time to multiple community service initiatives in association with the Kapa’a High softball program, including painting the dugouts at local softball diamonds.
