At the time of her selection, the 5-foot-8 junior right-handed pitcher and third baseman had led the Thunderbirds to an 18-4 record this season and a berth in Alaska’s Division I state tournament. Rodriguez posted a 14-3 record in the circle through 22 games with a 0.979 ERA, striking out 159 batters across 78.2 innings. At the plate, Rodriguez entered the postseason batting .603 with 11 home runs, 49 RBI and 25 runs scored, compiling a .641 on-base percentage, a 1.466 slugging percentage and a 2.106 OPS. The returning Gatorade Alaska Softball Player of the Year, she was named the Cook Inlet Conference MVP and USA Softball Alaska All-Tournament MVP.
Rodriguez has maintained a 3.69 weighted GPA in the classroom. She will begin her senior year of high school this fall.
Rodriguez has volunteered locally as a youth softball instructor.
