Athletic Excellence

At the time of his selection, the 6-foot, 195-pound senior right-handed pitcher and outfielder had led the Papermakers (14-6) to the Division 1 postseason tournament, scheduled to begin June 16. Deering compiled a 5-2 record on the mound with a 1.01 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 34.2 innings through 20 games. A 2024 First Team All-State selection, he also batted .435 with four home runs, 23 runs scored, 15 RBI and a 1.396 OPS.

Academic Achievement

Deering has maintained a 3.86 weighted GPA in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play baseball at the University of Tennessee this fall.
