The 5-foot-11, 165-pound senior guard led the Eagles to a 18-4-1 record and the Class 6A state championship this past season. Simmons averaged 14.4 points, 5 assists and 2.7 steals, including 13 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds in a 67-50 win over Shawnee Mission South in the state title game. Ranked as the state’s No.1 recruit in his class by 247Sports, he concluded his prep career as the program leader in single-season assists (126) and steals (80) as well as career steals.
Simmons has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play basketball at Richmond University this fall.
Simmons has donated his time as a member of the Eagle Flight Crew by promoting and supporting various programs at his school. He has also volunteered locally at multiple community youth camps as a counselor and coach.
