At the time of her selection, the 5-foot-10 junior right-handed pitcher had led the Indians to a 32-6 record and a berth in the Class 3A state semifinals. Mardjetko compiled a 17-1 mark in the circle with a 0.27 earned run average and 303 strikeouts through 38 games. She posted eight no-hitters, including two perfect games with one coming in a 1-0 victory over Metamora High in the Eastside Centre Super-Sectional. Ranked as the nation’s No. 10 recruit in the Class of 2023 by Extra Inning Softball, she owned a .434 batting average with two home runs and a .493 slugging percentage.
Mardjetko has maintained a weighted 4.31 GPA in the classroom. She has made a verbal commitment to play softball on scholarship at the University of South Carolina beginning in the fall of 2023.
A member of the Lemont High Athletic Council, Mardjetko has volunteered locally with Young Hearts for Life, which is a heart-health screening program, and as a peer tutor.
