The 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior shortstop batted .468 with 10 home runs, 61 runs scored and 52 RBI this past season, leading the Mustangs (29-15) to the Division I-AAAA sectional final. Ranked as the nation’s No. 26 prospect in the Class of 2025 by Perfect Game, Mitchell stole 38 bases in 39 attempts, compiling a .621 on-base percentage and an OPS of 1.531. He was also a 2025 Tennessee Mr. Baseball finalist.
Mitchell has maintained a 4.03 weighted GPA in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play baseball at Georgia Tech University this fall but is projected as a first round selection in July’s Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.
A member of the National Honor Society including four years on the academic honor roll, Mitchell is a devoted parishioner in his church community, through which he has volunteered locally on behalf of a food bank.
