The 6-foot-1, 140-pound senior raced to victory by a 36-second margin at the NCISAA Class 4A state championships this past season, pacing the Greenies to the state title as a team. Hansen also won the Champs Sports South Regionals, to qualify for the national meet, where he finished 11th to earn Third Team All-America honors. Unbeaten by an in-state runner during the 2022 campaign, he clocked a personal-best time of 14:29.20 when he broke the tape at the Alexander / Asics Invitational, one of his nine meet wins last fall.
Hansen has maintained a weighted 4.51 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to run on scholarship at Wake Forest University this fall.
Hansen has volunteered locally at the Calvary Episcopal Church Food Pantry, the Veterans Farm and Veterans Restoration Quarters in addition to donating his time through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
