The 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior left-handed pitcher, outfielder and first baseman compiled an 8-0 record on the mound this past season, posting a 0.56 ERA en route to setting a state single-season record with 146 strikeouts in 62.1 innings and leading the Lancers (18-15) to the Class 5A regional semifinals. Ranked as the state’s No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2022 by both Perfect Game and the Prep Baseball Report, he’s also rated as the No. 74 overall prospect in the upcoming MLB Draft by Baseball America. Snelling also set a state single-game record with 20 strikeouts in seven innings in a win over Spanish Springs. He issued only six walks this spring. A 2021 Perfect Game All-American Game invitee, he batted .362 with six home runs, 23 RBI, 28 runs and a 1.158 OPS this spring.
Snelling has maintained a 4.26 weighted GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at Louisiana State University this fall.
Snelling has volunteered locally as a mentor to elementary school students and as a youth baseball coach and camp instructor.
