The 6-foot-4, 200-pound senior guard had led the Fightin’ Planets to a 21-4 record and a berth in the Class 5A state tournament at the time of his selection. Carmody averaged 33.1 points, 14.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.0 steals through 25 games. A two-time First Team All-State honoree, he was also named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fab Five and was selected to the USA TODAY’s ALL-USA Pennsylvania Second Team.
Carmody has maintained a 4.05 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball on scholarship at the University of Notre Dame this fall.
A devoted member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Carmody has volunteered locally on behalf of a retirement home, youth basketball camps and Autism Speaks.
