The 5-foot-10 senior right-handed pitcher and first baseman led the Jaguars to a 24-4 record and the Class 5A state championship this past season, marking the program’s first state title. Tavita batted .557 with 15 home runs, 41 RBI, 39 runs scored and 14 stolen bases. In the circle, the Class 5A-Region IV Most Valuable Player posted a 20-2 mark with a 1.56 earned run average, striking out 145 batters in 125.1 innings pitched.
Tavita has maintained a B average in the classroom. She has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play softball at Brigham Young University this fall.
Tavita was a featured soloist and won first place in the Samoan section at the Pacific Islander Performing Arts Competition. She has volunteered locally with the Embraced Wellness Day Program, which supports adults with special needs. She has also donated her time as a youth softball coach.
