The 6-foot-3, 175-pound junior guard had led the Jaguars to a 28-5 record and a berth in the state tournament at the time of his selection. Sheppard averaged 25.5 points, 7.6 assists, 6.8 rebounds and 4.4 steals per game through 33 games. Entering the postseason, Sheppard had connected on 54.7 percent of his shots from the field (303-of-554), including 38.5 percent of his 3-pointers (70-of-182). He began the state tournament with 2,917 points in his prep basketball career.
Sheppard has maintained a 3.79 GPA in the classroom. He has made a verbal commitment to play basketball on scholarship at the University of Kentucky beginning in the fall of 2023.
Sheppard has volunteered locally on behalf of literacy-outreach projects and as a youth basketball coach.
