The District’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year, the 5-foot-11 senior setter led the Cadets to a 24-9 record and the DCSAA tournament championship this past season. Frye amassed 797 assists, 226 digs, 114 kills, 109 service aces and 39 blocks while posting a .521 kill percentage and a .393 hitting percentage. A First Team Washington Catholic Athletic Conference selection, Frye was a Washington Post All-Met honoree and was thrice named DCSAA First Team All-State. She concluded her prep volleyball career with 2,443 assists and 446 kills.
Frye has maintained a 3.78 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball on scholarship at James Madison University this fall.
Frye has volunteered locally raising awareness of Fragile X syndrome, a genetic condition that causes a range of developmental problems, and as a youth volleyball coach. “Rebecca’s strong serving provided her team with a comfortable lead to start out each game,” said Brandon Wiest, head coach of Georgetown Day School. “She was also able to turn almost any pass into a set to any hitter on her team, which kept defenses guessing throughout the season.”
