The 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior right-handed pitcher had led the Trojans to a 20-13 record entering the postseason. Priester posted a 6-2 record with a 1.20 ERA through 33 games, along with a .315 batting average and 20 RBI. He had surrendered just 25 hits and 11 walks in 46.2 innings pitched while striking out 73 batters. A Rawlings/Perfect Game First Team All-American, he is ranked as the nation’s No. 7 recruit in the Class of 2019 by Perfect Game.
Priester has maintained a 3.73 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at Texas Christian University this fall, but is projected as an early round selection in June’s Major League Baseball draft.
Also a football standout, Priester has volunteered locally on behalf of a food pantry, youth baseball programs and an elementary school reading initiative.
