The 6-foot-1, 208-pound senior sprinted to the Class 6A state championship in the 100-meter dash this past season, breaking the tape in 10.22 seconds, which ranked as the nation’s No. 4 performance among prep competitors in 2022. Goree also ran the second leg on the 4x100 relay, which won in 39.98, the fastest time in the nation this year and No. 5 in U.S. prep history. He won a national championship in the 100 at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in 10.36 while leading the 4x100 quartet to a first-place finish as well. His wind-aided, season-best time of 10.08 seconds in the 100 ranked as the No. 1 all-conditions time in the country in 2022.
Goree has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football on scholarship at Southern Methodist University this fall.
Also a football standout, Goree has served as a mentor at his church and has volunteered locally on behalf of a youth track program.
