The 6-foot-4, 190-pound senior left-handed pitcher had led the Thunderbirds to an 18-2 record and a berth in the Class 5A state tournament at the time of his selection. Carson posted a 7-0 record with a 0.49 earned run average through 20 games. In 37 innings pitched, he struck out 49 batters while allowing just 23 hits and 14 walks entering the postseason. Ranked as the No. 2 prospect in Kansas in the Class of 2018 by Perfect Game in addition to being named First-Team All-State and the Class 5A Pitcher of the Year, he spun six shutouts and a no-hitter in the regular season.
Carson has maintained a weighted 3.37 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball on scholarship at Missouri State University this fall.
Carson has donated his time to a local community center, helping parents in need with their children.
