The 5-foot-8 senior won four individual events at the Division 1 state meet this past season, leading the Cardinals to the state championship as a team. Floriea broke the tape in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.93 seconds, took the 200 in 24.17, captured the 400 in 54.25 and soared 19 feet, 10.25 inches to win the long jump. Her season-best leap of 20-4.75 in the long jump ranked as the nation’s No. 5 performance among 2021 prep girls competitors.
Floriea has maintained a 3.77 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete in track and field on scholarship at the University of North Carolina this fall.
Floriea has served as a mentor for youth track athletes and has volunteered locally in a special needs classroom.
