The state’s returning Gatorade Girls Track & Field Player of the Year, the 5-foot-5 senior won state titles in the 100- and 200-meter dash along with the 100-meter high hurdles at the Division I state meet this past season, leading the Thunderbirds to a second-place finish as a team. Mamae also ran the anchor leg for East’s second-place 4x100-meter relay quartet. She was unbeaten against in-state competition this spring and is the state leader in the 100, 200 and 100 hurdles.
Mamae has maintained a 3.71 weighted GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on scholarship at North Dakota State University this fall.
Mamae devotes much of her time to caring for her adopted younger brother, who has special needs. She has also volunteered locally as part of community beautification projects and on behalf of multiple community service initiatives through her church youth group.
