The state’s Gatorade Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year last fall, the 5-foot-10, 138-pound sophomore finished sixth in the mile run at the prestigious Brooks PR Invitational this past season. Green’s time of 4:06.20 ranked No. 9 in the nation among prep competitors in 2019 at the time of his selection. Green won the 1,600-meter run and the 3,200-meter run at the Class 5A state meet, leading the Lions to a fourth-place finish as a team. He ranked No. 11 in the nation among prep competitors this spring in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best time of 3:53.16 and he was No. 44 in the 1,600, clocking a personal-best 4:11.76.
Green has maintained a 3.36 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his junior year of high school this fall.
Green has volunteered locally as a youth running coach, and has donated his time to multiple community service initiatives through his church youth group.
