The 5-foot-8 senior guard averaged 22.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.3 steals and 2.5 assists per game this past season, leading the Fillies (22-3) to the Class 4A state semifinals.The state’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year and two-time Class 4A West Region Player of the Year, Hays injured her knee early in the state semifinal loss to Sheridan High and was lost for the game. She led Class 4A in scoring and steals for a second straight year and concluded her prep basketball career No. 16 on the state’s career scoring list with 1,689 points.
Hays has maintained a weighted 4.09 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Idaho State University this fall.
A member of her local chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Hays has volunteered locally as a speech pathology intern and as a youth basketball coach. She has also donated her time to multiple community service initiatives through her church youth group.
