At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound senior right-handed pitcher had led the Blue Devils (17-9) and a berth in the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) state postseason. Sime compiled a 5-2 record on the mound with a 1.13 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 49.1 innings. Ranked as the nation’s No. 36 prospect in the Class of 2025 by Perfect Game, he produced against some of the top teams in the country at the National High School Invitational this past spring.
Sime has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play baseball at Louisiana State University this fall but is projected as a first round selection in July’s Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.
He has volunteered locally as a youth baseball coach and has maintained a home-raised chicken coop, providing his family with a steady supply of fresh, farm-to-table eggs.
