The 5-foot-7 junior sprint sensation won the Nike Outdoor Nationals title in the 100-meter dash and set a state record in the event at the UIL Class 6A state championships this past season. That latter clocking of 11.04 seconds ranked No. 2 nationally among prep girls competitors this spring and No. 3 worldwide in the U20 age group. Maxwell added another national crown in the USATF U-20 National Championships 200 final with a personal-best time of 23.10, which ranked No. 10 in the country. She also won an individual state title in the triple jump, leading the Eagles to second place as a team. Her wind-legal PR triple jump of 42 feet, 6.5 inches at the UIL Class 6A Region III meet ranked No. 4 nationally.
Maxwell has maintained a 3.83 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her senior year of high school this fall.
A practiced viola player in the school orchestra, Maxwell has volunteered locally with Humble ISD’s Fill the Bus project, where toy donations are collected and presented to elementary-age disadvantaged children. She has also donated her time serving at the World Christian Fellowship Church Family Fun Day.
