The 6-foot-5, 200-pound senior left-handed pitcher compiled an 8-1 record on the mound with a 0.93 ERA this past season, leading the Mountain Lions (21-11-1) to the Conference 6A state championship game. Liberatore struck out 104 batters while allowing just 28 hits and 25 walks in 60.1 innings pitched. Rated as the No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2018 by Perfect Game, he won a gold medal with the Team USA at the 2017 U-18 World Cup in Canada.
Liberatore has maintained a weighted 4.14 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball on scholarship at the University of Arizona this fall, but is projected as an early-round selection in June’s Major League Baseball draft.
Liberatore has volunteered locally at a homeless shelter and as a youth baseball coach. He has also donated his time to a fundraising campaign to benefit Rady’s Children’s Hospital-San Diego.
