The 6-foot senior swept the shot put and discus events at the Division 1 state meet, leading the Pumas to a fourth-place finish as a team. At the time of her selection, Long’s top put of the shot—53 feet, 3.75 inches at the Red Mountain Rampage—was a state record and ranked No. 1 nationally among 2021 prep competitors in the event. A transfer from West Linn (Ore.) High before her junior year, Long’s best discus throw of 163-2 ranked No. 12 nationally.
Long has maintained a weighted 4.0 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on an athletic scholarship at Baylor University.
A member of her school’s chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Long has volunteered locally as a youth sports mentor and coach, and she has donated her time to multiple community service initiatives through her church.
