The 5-foot-6 senior right-handed pitcher led the Tigers to a 29-1 record and a second straight Class 7A state championship this past season. Prough posted a 22-1 mark in the circle with a 1.06 earned run average. She allowed just 78 hits and struck out 233 batters in 139.1 innings pitched. Prough fired four no-hitters, including two perfect games, and recorded 13 shutouts. A two-time Class 7A state tournament MVP, she is a three-time First Team All-State selection.
Prough has maintained a B average in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play softball on scholarship at Crowder College in Missouri beginning this fall.
Prough has volunteered locally as a camp counselor and youth softball coach. "Maddy has so much power and movement on the ball," said Tamara Strawn, head coach of Sheridan High. "She has great composure and is a leader. She is a vital part of Bentonville's success."
