“She is a very aggressive player who displays both confidence and intelligence in her play on offense and defense."Maddie is one of the best forwards I have seen in my 10 years as a high school coach. She is a very aggressive player who displays both confidence and intelligence in her play on offense and defense. She works very hard to gain and maintain possession, always looking for opportunities to attack and create offense. Her vision and composure enables her to distribute or score, making her a player that other teams have to account for at all times. Maddie, however, is also a team player. Although this past season she set a personal goal of breaking Visitation's record for goals scored in a single season (32 goals), she sacrificed the opportunity to achieve this midway through the season by moving back to midfield to provide leadership and balance to our young injury-riddled team. Without Maddie in a more organizational and defensive position, our team would not have done as well as it did. This willingness to sacrifice for the good of the her community characterizes Maddie's achievements off the field as well. Her dedication to her academics, as well as her work with Think Pink and area homeless shelters, are a good example to all of her teammates of what it truly means to be a Player of the Year. Most importantly, she is a sister, a daughter, a neighbor, a friend, and a very important part of the Visitation community. ”
