The 5-foot-5 sophomore sprinter/hurdler won national titles in the 100- and 200-meter dashes at New Balance Nationals Outdoor this past season, becoming a double All-American in the process. Raye’s 200 clocking of 22.77 seconds ranked No. 1 nationally among girls prep competitors this spring. Her time of 11.26 in the 100 set a meet record and ranked No. 5 nationally. Raye set an all-conditions state record in the 100 during prelims at NBNO with a wind-aided time of 11.21 seconds. She also set an all-conditions state record in the 200 at the Rhode Island State Championships with a wind-aided clocking of 22.73 seconds, having already captured the state title in the 100. She completed a four-gold-medal day with wins in the 100-meter high hurdles (14.06) and 300 intermediate hurdles (42.53) at the state meet, both of which were also state records.
Raye has maintained a 3.64 weighted GPA in the classroom. She will begin her junior year of high school this fall.
Raye has volunteered locally at middle school track meets and with the Special Olympics. She has also donated her time as a mentor for incoming freshmen at West Warwick High.
