The 5-foot-11 senior third baseman led the Eagles (22-3) to the Class 5A state finals this past season. Malkin compiled a .603 batting average with 11 home runs, 35 RBI and a 1.365 slugging percentage. A First Team All-State selection, she is also a four-time All-Front Range League honoree and was named the Class 5A Player of the Year.
Malkin has maintained a 3.38 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at the University of Arkansas this fall.
Malkin has volunteered locally feeding the homeless and assisting special education students in her school. "Linnie Malkin is a great kid and an outstanding softball player," said Dave Philop, head coach at Fossil Ridge High. "She hits the ball a ton and she's a great defensive player with a cannon for an arm. She's got tremendous talent. I'm very anxious not to have to face her next year."
