The 5-foot-6 freshman won the Class 5A state meet this past season with a time of 18:10.27, breaking the tape 11.48 seconds ahead of her next-closest competitor and leading the Mavericks to a first-place finish as a team. Halladay finished 16th at the Nike Cross Nationals Final in 18:00.3 to earn All-American honors after placing second at the NXN Northwest Regional championships. She was undefeated against in-state competition and also won the Roy Griak Invitational in Minnesota.
Halladay has maintained a 3.43 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her sophomore year of high school this fall.
An accomplished violinist, Halladay has volunteered locally on behalf of multiple community-service initiatives through her church youth group. "Lexy is the future of running in the United States," said Tracy Harris, head coach of Mountain View High. "She is humble, motivated, tenacious and fiercely competitive. It will be so much fun to watch and be a part of her career over the next four years."
