The 5-foot-9 junior setter led the Warriors to a 26-5 record and the Division I state championship this past season. Akeo recorded 841 assists, 173 digs, 54 kills and 22 blocks while posting a kill percentage of .367. The Division I state tournament MVP and a First Team All-State selection, she recorded 104 assists in three postseason matches, all of them straight-set, 3-0 Kamehameha victories.
Akeo has maintained a 3.72 GPA in the classroom. She has made a verbal commitment to play volleyball on scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh beginning in the fall of 2019.
Akeo has volunteered locally on behalf of her family-run Pilikoko Baseball Clinic/Canned Food Drive and this year she helped organize the first Pilikoko Volleyball Clinic/Canned Food Drive. She has also donated her time to community beautification projects. “Lexis has matured into a very skilled and cerebral setter,” said Chris Blake, head coach of Kamehameha School. “She understands her role to put our attackers in the best spots for success.”
