The 6-foot, 225-pound senior led the Patriots to the Division A state championship this past season. Rockey won the shot put with a throw of 58 feet, 1 inch, and the discus with a mark of 168-8, winning both events for a second straight year. His season and personal-best discus throw of 178-6 ranked No. 96 in the nation among prep competitors in 2018 at the time of his selection. Rockey was undefeated in the state in both throwing events for the 2018 indoor and outdoor campaigns and was voted the 2018 North Dakota State and Field Senior Athlete of the Year.
Rockey has maintained a 3.14 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to compete on an athletic scholarship at the North Dakota State University this fall.
A member of his local chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Rockey has volunteered locally as a youth football coach, and he has donated his time as part of multiple community service initiatives through his church youth group.
