The 5-foot-11 senior swept the shot put and discus at the Class 4A state meet this past season, leading the Camels to a second-place finish as a team. At the time of her selection, Love’s personal-best put of the shot of 47 feet, 6.25 inches was second in state history and ranked No. 22 nationally among 2021 prep competitors in her event while her personal-best discus throw of 144-3 ranked No. 77. She was one of the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s 16 Multi-Sport Athletes of the Year in 2021.
Love has maintained a 4.09 GPA in the classroom and graduated as her school’s valedictorian. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on an athletic scholarship at the University of Arizona this fall.
The treasurer of the Campbell County High National Honor Society, Love has volunteered locally with the Campbell County Parade of Homes during the Christmas season and at the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce’s annual crawfish boil.
