The 5-foot-10 senior setter led the Hawks to a 46-6 record and the Class 6A state championship this past season. McLaughlin recorded 1,618 assists, 419 digs, 97 kills and 42 service aces. The Dallas Morning News Player of the Year, she is an All-State honoree and a MaxPreps First Team All-American.
McLaughlin has maintained a 4.50 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball on scholarship at Oregon State University this fall.
McLaughlin has volunteered locally on behalf of food-donation drives and youth volleyball programs. "Kylee McLaughlin makes everyone around her a better player," said Sandy Faussett, head coach at Waxahachie High. "She runs a quick, hard-to-defend offense and she delivers a consistent ball to her hitters. She also plays great defense, which you don't always get with setters."
