The 6-foot-4, 190-pound senior guard had led the Red Raiders to a 24-2 record and a berth in the Division 2 state semifinals at the time of his selection. King averaged 26.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.1 steals through 26 games. A First Team All-State honoree and the Mississippi Valley Conference Player of the Year, he was also named to USA TODAY's ALL-USA Wisconsin First Team.
King has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball on scholarship at the University of Wisconsin this fall.
King has volunteered locally on behalf of the Salvation Army, the La Crosse Jaycees Toys for Tots program, food donation drives and youth basketball teams. "Kobe King is just an outstanding basketball player, with great skills and athleticism," said Brad Reinhart, head coach at Aquinas High. "He's been by far the best player on the floor in every game I've seen him play."
