At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior shortstop had led the Vikings (32-3) to a berth in the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA) Class AAAA state championship game. The 2025 GIAA District 6 Region Player of the Year, Johnson batted .524 with 10 home runs, 67 runs scored, 47 RBI and a .643 on-base percentage through 35 games. Ranked as the nation’s No. 6 prospect in the Class of 2026 by Prep Baseball, he also stole 25 bases without being caught and struck out just six times in 142 plate appearances.
Johnson has maintained a 3.40 GPA in the classroom. He has verbally committed to play baseball on scholarship at Vanderbilt University beginning in the fall of 2026.
Having completed more than 120 hours of community service during his high school career, Johnson has volunteered locally on behalf of Meals on Wheels America, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia and as a youth baseball instructor.
