The 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior sprinter won a pair of individual state championships this spring and led the Monarchs to a second-place finish as a team at the Class A state meet. Cotton captured victory in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.91 seconds
Cotton has maintained a 3.82 GPA in the classroom.
He has volunteered locally on behalf of the Open Door Mission, an annual school carnival and as a youth football and track & field coach.
