The 5-foot-7 senior shortstop and outfielder led the Eagles (57-9) to the Class 1A state championship this past season. Sides compiled a .606 batting average with 13 home runs, 85 RBI, 109 runs scored and 99 stolen bases. The state record-holder for career runs and stolen bases, she is a four-time All-State selection, a three-time Super All-State honoree and was named the Class 2A Player of the Year as a junior. Sides is also a two-time MaxPreps All-American and is ranked as the nation's No. 27 recruit in the Class of 2017 by FloSoftball.
Sides has maintained a 3.84 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at the University of Alabama this fall.
Sides has volunteered locally on behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, Operation Shoebox and canned food drives. "There's nothing that Sides can't do offensively," said Wade Tittle, head coach at Carbon Hill High. "She can hit for power, slap, bunt and she steals bases better than anyone I've ever seen."
