Entering tomorrow’s Class 4A state title game on June 10, the 5-foot-10 senior right-handed pitcher compiled a 25-1 record with a 0.53 earned run average in the circle through 35 games, leading the Royals to a 31-3-1 record. The returning Gatorade National Player of the Year, Rothrock had struck out 315 batters while allowing just 62 hits in 158 innings entering the state final. A two-time returning State Gatorade Player of the Year, Rothrock underwent Compartment Syndrome surgery on both of her legs in January. She batted .500 batting average with eight home runs, 46 RBI and a .864 slugging percentage this season through the semifinals.
Rothrock has maintained a weighted 4.10 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play softball on scholarship at the University of Florida this fall.
Also a talented artist, Rothrock has served as an editor of her school’s yearbook. She has volunteered locally on behalf of Servant’s Heart of Indy, Riley Hospital for Children and Powerhouse Training softball camps. She has also regularly coached youth players privately in hitting and pitching and has donated earnings to her church.
