The 6-foot-10, 225-pound senior forward had led the Democrats to a 23-3 record and a berth in the Class 6A quarterfinals at the time of his selection. A two-time Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year in Alaska, Hepa averaged 16.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 6.3 blocks and 3.5 assists through 26 games. A two-time All-Conference honoree, he was the Iolani Classic Most Outstanding Player and was selected to the USA TODAY’s ALL-USA Oregon First Team.
Hepa has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball on scholarship at the University of Texas this fall.
Hepa has served in his school’s student leadership and has volunteered locally on behalf of Self Enhancement, Inc.
